love casts out fear

Fear, everyone deals with fear right? But what’s crazy is that you could take two people, give them the same fear and their lives could look completely opposite. The only difference would be each persons belief in the fear. The definition of fear is “an unpleasant emotion caused by a belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain or a threat”. Belief, did you catch that?! Are you stuck in a life of bondage because you’re believing lies due to fear? Or are you living a life of freedom because your beliefs in God are bigger than your beliefs in anything else. There was one day in particular I had let fear consume my mind. Bad thoughts had flooded my head and I felt like I had lost control of everything in my life. In the moment I was crying out to God asking Him to help me and he said, who do you fear more, that person or me? Are you going to be more fearful (an unpleasant emotion) of a human on this earth or does your fear (profound reverence) of me, God of the universe mean more? Are you going to allow me to take care of you and the people you love? Will you trust me enough to hand them over to me or are you going to give fear your time and energy? Wow. I had never thought about it like that. But God spoke so clear and bluntly to me which Is exactly what I needed. Like a father correcting his child, giving me an open gateway to freedom. I will choose life. I will choose to fear my God more than things here on this earth. I will put 100% of my trust in God, that he will take care of me and my loved ones, regardless of how my situation might look or feel. Regardless of every fearful thought that runs through my mind. I will put my full faith and trust in God that he has a plan and purpose. He will work ALL things out for the glory of God for His people. So in that, why would we ever live in fear? Why would we ever waste a moment of praise being concerned with circumstantial things. Perfect love cast out fear. Jesus died on the cross for us so in that we can live knowing that He loves us, that He will always take care of us. He cares for you more than anybody else could ever care for you. He thinks about you more than anyone else ever does, He loves you more than you can imagine someone loving you. He’s got you. He’s got your back. He knows what you are walking through, He knows what you will have to walk through. He has purpose for each day. He has purpose in each season. Start living in the perfect love God has for you, and stop wasting time giving into fear. Take control of your thoughts and answer your fears with perfect love. One of the best places to go when you’re in a place of fear is to praise and worship. Because filling your mind with praise leaves no room for torment from fear. There is no room for anxiety or depression in worship. Worship puts you in a place of gratefulness which is the best way to switch the gears of your thought process. Next time you find yourself fearful of the future, fearful in the moment, fearful about people you love, remind yourself of God’s perfect love. Start praising Him for everything he’s done for you, and know that he isn’t finished yet. He is the same yesterday, today and forever!
